CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, April 22 (PIA) - - Governor Ferdinand Tubban strongly encourages yKalingas to trust in the government's vaccination program and get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Tubban said the purpose to be vaccinated is not just for self-care but is also a social responsibility. And the best vaccine is the available one.

"This is an opportunity for us to guard ourselves, our families and loved ones. We can also save lives from this. Let us grab every chance of having ourselves or our family members who are qualified to be vaccinated," Tubban added.

The governor and his wife, Dr. Ana Lua Tubban, were inoculated today for their first dose of Sinovac vaccine at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

"I care for my family, the people I work with. My health is my responsibility and I no longer want this COVID-19 to affect my condition and impede me from giving my personal service to the people," he said.

"Lagipen tayo laengen ti ayat tayo ti pamilya tayo ken dagituy kakadwa nga makapulapul tayo, haan laeng para iti bagi tayo ti panunuten tayo nu ket para ti amin nga umili," he advised.

To date, Kalinga received a total of 4,530 total doses of CoronaVac Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines. The Provincial Health Office vaccinated 3,723 Priority Group A1 frontline health workers from March 7 to April 19, 2021.

There are 551 second-dose recipients of CoronaVac, achieving a 94 percent performance in terms of usage of the allocated vaccine doses. Vaccination sessions are ongoing targeting priority Group A2 (senior citizens) and Group A3 (adults with controlled comorbidities). (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR with reports from PLGU-PIO)
